NSV

So I was doing push ups the other day -- no really -- and it's been a long time since I've done them.  And they were much easier than I remembered.

At first I thought, wow I've gotten stronger...without.even.trying.

Then I realized, well, of course push ups are going to be easier when you're lifting 90 pounds LESS off the floor.

Duh.

but kinda cool.

That's it, have a great Thursday everyone.

Merry Christmas and stuff

I know, I know, it's been awhile! Life has been crazy, luckily I have a couple weeks off and in those two weeks I plan on organizing my life, seeing friends I haven't seen in awhile, get the kids to the museum, clean my house, catch up on reading all your blogs AND get back in the habit of blogging.

Here's what's been happening:

Weight I'm finally down past 80 pounds YAY and I've lost a total of 40 inches...which so doesn't seem right, but I did the math, like twice (I updated my progress tab for actual numbers).

NSV -- I was in a store looking for something to wear to Jason's office Christmas party and they didn't have a size 22/24 (which IS smaller than my original size) in the blouse I wanted.  I asked the sales person if they had any more in the back and she said no, but encouraged me to try on the 18/20.  I told her I didn't think that was possible and she raised her eyebrows and said..."oh, I think you'll be surprised" and I was...yay, I fit into the 18/24 AND in another store I bought a 1x....I'm so close to being able to shop in the regular stores....

Exciting isn't it.  Well I'm excited.

Confession -- I've done horribly with my eating....stress? Christmas? Life? I have no idea what the issue is, but I have got to get it together! I even wrote out a plan for Christmas....hahahah, well that went out the window as soon as the chili rellenos showed up.  I do have to admit though, I didn't do the massive qualities of baking I normally do and that helped a lot.

Baby steps.

For Christmas, Jason got me the bodybugg....I wasn't sure about it...technology and me..well we're not friends...but since cookies and I are breaking up, I may have more room in my life for this guy.  I spent the day hooking him all up and I'll strap him on tomorrow (did that sound dirty to anyone else?). I'm kind of excited...this is what I may need to get me back on the wagon....

It took an hour just to figure out where the USB port on the bug itself is...finally googled it and you remove the strap and it's under the strap 'encasement thing'.  It's all in the computer and I'll put it on tonight...they said to pretty much wear it 23 hours a day (I'm assuming the 1 hour you don't wear it you're in the shower).

I'll have to keep you posted.

My husband has been working like a fiend. Wavecloud, the company where he works, is launching a huge giveaway on their new website and he is putting out fires left and right...but there are still a ton of books so if you have an e-reader and want a free book, click here -- and hopefully you'll like the experience so much you'll go back and buy a book later

Sorry about the shameless plug for my husband's company but we really really want this to work, because he really really loves his job

Okay....Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and happy regular day to those that don't and to all a Happy and thinner new year!

Wednesday Weigh In

Starting Weight: 320
Last Week's Weight 258
This Week's Weight 256

I've been so bad about blogging. I used to blame it on getting my master's.  I blamed a lot of things on getting my master's and yet I am still dropping the ball on a bunch of stuff.  Ugh. And I'm not getting my master's any more (because I have it, not because I gave up). So...I think I finally have to admit it to myself.  I am a flake.

ugh.

The good news.  I went shopping and bought some 2x stuff.  Then kept it on the chair in my room for a couple of days wondering if I should try it on.   So I tried it on and it fit...WOW. I really am a size smaller.  It's been a long...LONG time since I've been there.  Not only did they fit, but I could see a difference when I wore those clothes.  I showed my husband - who was not quite as excited as I was.  When I asked him why, he said he wasn't surprised because he's been telling me I'm smaller for weeks now.  I'm the one that had to 'catch up'....

So caught up now....

Will post pictures later.

Have to go do really important pre-work things...like brush my teeth and get dressed.

What size am I?

I had a recent follow-up appointment with the nurse at the surgeon's office. She told me how great I was doing and I said, 'really' because I don't feel much smaller.

She totally understood. She has had this surgery herself. She called it fat-girl syndrome.  Even though she is at or close to her goal (I didn't ask, she just looked like she was), she said that she still feels like she's too big to fit into certain sizes, or through the door.

She said, I should probably start buying smaller clothes.  At my highest I was in a loose 3x or sometimes a 4x.  My 4x clothes are really loose and my 3x's are loose but wearable and even though this is the case, the thought of even trying on a 2x is too out of my reality right now.  Because I really don't feel like I've lost enough weight to be in a smaller size. I really (at almost 60 pounds lost ---- SIXTY) do not feel smaller.

Very frustrating.

A little scary too -- frankly, not sure if I'm more scared to feel smaller or that I'm not feeling smaller.

She suggested that I go to a store...not buy anything...but try some smaller stuff on. And by smaller, I mean 2x stuff -- it's not like she's asking me to be self-defeatest and try on a size 6 something.

We did both agreed that it's great wearing scrubs..because you can get away with wearing those through a couple different sizes.

I was shopping with a friend and I saw a pretty cute outfit. I also have to go to a wedding in October (husband's boss's son's wedding).  Soooo, I thought, why not? I bought it in a smaller size (2x). I didn't try it on (too scary) but I do think with the way things are going I'll be there by October (even if I won't feel like I look differently)

Here's the outfit. Cream colored sweater set (and yeah, I'm going to wear pearls with it, because pearls and sweater sets go together like PB&J). And a long A-line skirt  with a fun raised patter on it.

It's actually an outfit, I'd wear as a skinny person (yeah, yeah, I run a little a preppy that way).  I feel myself getting closer to shopping at regular stores...I, at least, can shop in the big section at the regular stores now...The 3x's there run a little smaller than the 3x's at, say LBry-ant or online and I was limited to very few choices.  So now I have some more choices...I'm liking that.

Oh yeah, also liking the health benefits and more energy...Because it's not JUST about the clothing choices....(insert wink here).

HAPPY LABOR DAY!  one of the nice benefits of being a school nurse is holidays OFF.

whew

so, I'm back down to the 280 poundage that I weighed in last Wednesday....so hopefully no other 4 lb weight gain in one day and tomorrow for my official weigh in I can at least be the same as last week....it's probably hoping too much but maybe even 1 lb below?  Whatever, I'm just happy my weight loss is back on track.

Went to the endrocrinologist today...he's going to continue monitoring my Thyroid but has decided to wait until my weight stabilizes before checking out all the PCOS and other hormones...he said I will be totally out of wack (it's a medical term -- I'm a nurse, remember)  for the coming year.

I'm good with that.

And score, my blood pressure 116/78

I LOVE LOVE being off my high blood pressure medications and having readings like that!

And....he called me a rock star, he said almost 40 lbs in three months is awesome.

Okay...will check in tomorrow with my official weigh in

Happy Tuesday everyone!
